Testimonials

I had a significant back injury in 2007, (SI joint ligament rupture and L5-
S1 impingement) I was very anxious and did not feel safe in my own
body for many years, as I always in pain or uncomfortable. This
significantly affected every part of my life, in particular my mental health
and my ability to work and since I am an Occupational Therapist, it was
devastating.

Emma was my work colleague before she was my physiotherapist. I was
so impressed by her knowledge of the body, her ability to explain what is
happening and her general kindness, that I asked to be one of her
patients. It was the best decision ever. I have also referred many family
members and clients to her, as she is just phenomenal.
I had seen sooooo many Physiotherapists but none like Emma.

I have worked with her for 8 years and in that time, I went from basic
exercises and regular treatment to reformer and mat Pilates with less
regular treatment.  I now see her only as issues arise, as she has helped
me get strong and co-ordinate my muscle patterns following my injury,
which has enabled me to return to mainstream high intensity strength
based exercise classes (body pump, metafit, ABT).

Emma has changed the way that I exercise and increased my self-
awareness of how I hold my posture and move, which has resulted in an
increased confidence in my body. I now feel strong and secure in myself
because my body is strong. I could not have done this without the help

of Emma. I will continue to see Emma for exercise advice and incidental
treatments. I strongly recommend anybody that has any issues with their
body to see her. You will love her.
However you must, must, must do the exercises or take on education
she gives you as this is where the change happens. She can’t help you if
you don’t help you.

When I first started pilates with Emma about six years ago, I was suffering with dizziness and bouts of vertigo and also had some back issues.

At first, I was very nervous and apprehensive and not very confident in doing many of the exercises, but as time went on my confidence slowly improved and I started to trust my body and Emma more in what she was asking me to do.

Emma has a very kind and caring nature and her amazing knowledge of the body as a physiotherapist and a Pilates instructor, is brilliant.

At 71, age is not an issue, as the way Emma approaches each individual’s needs in the class is second to none. She confidently adapts each exercise to accommodate any health issues of each individual.

With the many tips she has shared over the years it has helped me in my day to day life as I now am much more confident and aware of how I hold my body, breath and more carefully carry out my day to day activities.

As I also have osteoporosis I started doing some gym work with more weight bearing exercises.  I was so thankful that I had learnt the basics of Pilates first with Emma before embarking on my gym journey as it has greatly helped me be successful in this form of training.

When Pilates studios closed due to covid, I started doing FaceTime one on one classes with Emma, which I continue to do now and it works very well.

I highly recommend Emma for all physiotherapist needs and Pilates classes.  With her professional but easy going happy personality, she makes the classes fun but challenging and I look forward to our time together each week.
